Housing Information
The military provides two options for the use of your Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH). The first option is to live on base. Your second option is to use your BAH to rent or buy a house off base.

• The Naval Housing Referral Office  (757) 445-2832 / (800) 628-7510. Contact the housing office as soon as you know you are moving. You will be provided with the latest information on local housing as well as referral services and relocation assistance. They offer counseling and guidance before entering into a lease agreement and help resolve tenant-landlord disputes.

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth On Base Housing

• Single service members can contact the Military Personnel Management Department (757) 953-3560 for assistance.
  
  
• On-base housing for NMC Portsmouth is privatized and provided by Lincoln Military Housing (757) 673-0082 / (757) 598-7266. The have two neighborhoods with 3-5 bedroom homes based on rank and family size. Amenities may include washer/dryer hookups, garbage disposal, fenced backyard and attached garage. The community features a swimming pool, community garden, basketball courts and more.
